The Past
Can-Am is a branch of a different company known as Bombardier Recreational Products. That company was founded in 1942 and completely revolutionized the powersports industry. The brand made advancements in a variety of ways, including creating and successfully testing a snowmobile.
When Can-Am started, the focus was on motocross dirt bikes. These models featured incredible agility and high speed capabilities perfect for competitive racing. Although the company saw success with their bikes, they sought to expand their offerings. They started by making ATVs. In the late 1990s, Can-Am created ATV models that had TTI rear suspension using two independent pivot points.
