Motorcycle Inspection in Poughkeepsie, NY

Dutchess Recreational Vehicles is a licensed New York State motorcycle inspection station. We are here to help keep you happy, legal, and most importantly, safe on the road.

Please note that each inspection takes a minimum of 15 minutes, and your bike will be brought inside our building by our staff, as required by NYS DMV regulations. If there are customers ahead of you, wait times may be longer.

Because inspections require bringing bikes inside the building and dedicating a technician, we offer limited walk-in hours so we can continue serving customers efficiently.

Walk-In NYS Inspections

Walk-in inspections are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the following hours:

Wednesdays: 10 AM – 2 PM
Thursdays: 2 PM – 5 PM

The cost of a NYS inspection is $6 (cash, credit, or debit accepted).

Please bring a valid New York State registration card with you. Remember that NYS motorcycle registrations expire April 30 each year.

Inspections cannot be performed after dark or during inclement weather, so please plan accordingly.

 

New for 2026 — Ride-Ready Pre-Season Check (By Appointment)

For customers who prefer a scheduled appointment instead of waiting during walk-in hours, we now offer a Ride-Ready Pre-Season Check.

This $40 appointment-based service helps get your motorcycle ready for the riding season and includes:

• A general mechanical check of key components
• Tire and fluid condition review and adjust tire pressure
• Chain or belt condition check
• A complimentary NYS inspection
If service work is recommended and performed, the $40 Ride-Ready Pre-Season Check will be credited toward that service.
